## What is the Perception Lab? The Perception Lab is a biometric UX research platform that measures physiological responses to design. It combines custom hardware (ESP32-C3 sensor board) with a Flutter data collection app to capture what users feel — not just what they say.

How it works

**Hardware** — ESP32-C3 board with GSR (galvanic skin response), MAX30102 heart rate sensor, and ADS1115+FSR grip force sensors. Streams at 100 Hz over USB-C. Total BoM ~€52. **Flutter App** — Real-time data collection with USB serial reader, camera pipeline (ML Kit face detection, gaze estimation, blink detection), and touch analytics (reaction time, velocity, pressure, hesitation). **Experiments** — 4 experiment types: preference test (A/B with physiological comparison), five-second test (first-impression analysis), scroll test (engagement heatmap), heatmap test (attention mapping). **Analysis** — Export to JSON/CSV. Compare explicit preferences against physiological predictions. Statistical analysis with design recommendations.
